SAF€RA is a partnership between 16 research funding organizations from 12 European countries who collaborate on research programming and launch joint calls in the field of industrial safety. It prolongs the work developed in the SAF€RA ERA-NET, which was funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration during the period April 2012 – March 2015. Industrial safety is an enabling success factor in the pursuit of beneficial and sustainable business activities.

News

May 19 2022: 7th joint call published. SAF€RA’s 7th joint call for proposals has been officially published during the 2022 symposium in Rome, concerning Industrial safety implications of platform work, the Green Deal, and advanced materials for energy storage. The call website provides all the necessary information.


Registration for the symposium is open. Registration for SAF€RA's 2022 symposium (May 19 and 20, Rome) is open. Participation is free but registration is mandatory.


April 4th 2022 at 14:00 CEST, presentation of the 7th joint call. SAF€RA will be organizing an online information meeting to present the topics of the upcoming joint call (to be officially published at the symposium on May). The brief presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, then researchers will be able to present pitches of project ideas and possible collaborations with future consortium partners. 28 March 2022: draft call text published. A draft of the proposer guidelines for SAF€RA's upcoming 2022 joint call is available for download, including a full description of the call topics. The funding organizations participating are also specified (list which may increase in the next few weeks).

SAF€RA symposium, May 19-20 2022 in Rome. SAF€RA will be organizing a symposium (the first in-person event that we have organized for some time! 🎉) in May. The symposium will kindly be hosted by INAIL in central Rome. Save the date! (Please note that the symposium was initially planned in March 2022, but was postponed due to Covid restructions.)

November 2021. SAF€RA has created an email newsletter to share information on upcoming calls and events relevant to research in industrial safety. Around four messages per year are expected, and registration is naturally respecting the EU data protection regulations. You can register for free online.


December 8th 2020. SAF€RA has published its sixth joint call, on the topic Industrial safety in the context of pandemics and exponential change. This will be a “fast-track” call using a single stage (no preproposals), with proposals expected before March 30th 2021 and funding decisions transmitted to applicants at the end of May 2021. Approximately 1.2M€ in funding is available from SAF€RA partners in this call. Details on the call website.


November 2020: Upcoming fast-track call on industrial safety in the context of pandemics and exponential change. In the first week of December, SAF€RA will be launching a “fast-track” single-stage call on two topics:

  • Lessons learned and capacity building for resilient response
  • Nanostructured materials in PPE and filtration devices

The response deadline will be mid-April 2021 with funding decisions made at the end of May 2021.

April 2020: Covid-19 webinar series. SAF€RA has organized a series of webinars concerning the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on health and safety at work. The first webinar was organized on April 29th, with two presentations. The slides and video recording are available online.
