News in 2019

November 12 2019: SAF€RA has published its fifth joint call, on the topic Safety concerns and opportunities related to advanced materials and new technologies in energy production and storage. The call covers both technical/technological dimensions of this topic and the societal dimensions (public perception, policy-making and governance issues). Approximately 1.54M€ in funding is available from SAF€RA partners in this call, which will use a two-stage application process (pre-proposals by end of January 2020, full proposals in March 2020, funding decisions provided around June 2020, contracts starting towards the end of 2020). A matchmaking website will be available for candidates interested in forming consortia, and a number of virtual brokerage events will also be organized after the call publication.

June 27 2019: SAF€RA will publish its fifth joint call at the end of September 2019, on the topic Safety concerns and opportunities related to advanced materials and new technologies in energy production and storage.

June 26 2019: During its 2019 General Assembly, SAF€RA members elected a new chairperson, Paolo Bragatto (INAIL, Italy) and a new vice-chairperson, Viola van Guldener (RIVM, The Netherlands). Many thanks to the outgoing chairperson Minna Päivinen (Tukes, Finland) and vice-chairperson Olivier Salvi (Ineris Développement, France) for their excellent service over the past years.

June 25-26 2019: SAF€RA will hold a strategy workshop, followed by its annual General Assembly, in Helsinki, kindly hosted by our Finnish partners FIOH, FWEF and Tukes.
